VLAB™ is designed with interoperability with other tools and environments in mind. A key part of interoperability supported by VLAB is the ability to export your investment in system models, for example virtual system prototype intellectual property, such as integration netlists and component descriptions, outside of VLAB into any other third party or your own environment and tools using insustry standard formats, such as SystemC and IP-XACT, or into any user defined third party or proporietary formats.
VLAB interoperability products enable you to create system level virtual prototype IP with VLAB and export into other simulation environments and tools, if you want to share, utilise other tools alongside, or simply migrate from VLAB to other tools in the future.
The General Netlist Export Toolbox™ enables VLAB users to create a netlist description of any VLAB modelling component, including the topsheet of a complete virtual platform. The output format is under the complete control of the user — this toolbox can be utilised to generate netlists in both standard and proprietary formats, with any annotations or meta-information required by your downstream tools and applications.
The SystemC Export Toolbox™ provides means for converting any VLAB modelling component to standard SystemC C++ format, thus preserving your investment in the VLAB application. The output of this toolbox can be used to create a standalone simulator based on OSCI or any other standards compliant SystemC simulation library.
The IP-XACT™ Export Toolbox™ offers the VLAB user functionality for exporting descriptions of VLAB modelling components and netlists as IEEE 1685™-2009 compliant IP-XACT descriptions and netlists. This toolbox allows the use of VLAB for the user friendly creation of human readable, easily modifable and debuggable component and netlist descriptions utilising the powerful and intuitive VLAB programmable capabilities and APIs and then exporting these for interperability and data exchange with other tools and flows using the standard machine readable IEEE 1685™-2009 compliant IP-XACT standard from Accellera.
